A visionary of Development

Mr. Shivaramagouda is representing Koppal Constituency in the highest abode of peoples representatives in our Country i.e. Parliament. It is a matter of great pride for the Kannadigas that Mr. Shivaramagouda is an active member in Parliament. He is always thinking and making efforts for the development of his constituency. He is more friendly with all the sections of the people and earned their love and affection.

Being a gentleman agriculturist and a businessman, he started his public life as a social servant with his utmost care for the educational and cultural development of this area. Because of his people oriented thoughts and cooperative bent of mind he is constantly tackling the problems of this part of Hyderabad-Karnataka region of Karnataka. Time and again he is striving hard in the Parliament by raising the questions in the Parliament about his constituency. People of this area love him and admire is efforts. He is a person who does not like propaganda of his works. He is a silent worker and achiever. He has the ability to reach the people with open mind and convincing attitude. These are his great strengths in shaping his noble thoughts.

Life sketch:

   Mr. Shivaramagouda was born on 03^rd February 1954 at Mannur Sugur of Bellary district. His father’s name was Shivanagouda and mother Iramma. He studied in his village up to 3^rd standard and later he continued his education at Gangavathi. His high school and PUC education was at Govt. Junior College Gangavathi. He did his B.A. graduation in 1976 with Political Science as a major subject at Karnataka College Dharwad. He studied his law at Karnataka University Law College, Dharwad with criminology as a special subject in the year 1979. He started his initial career as a lawyer at Gangavathi. As a practicing lawyer, he persued business in film theatre and agriculture. He started S.G. Brother’s Rice Mill in the year 1983 and the Shive Cinema in 1993. He became the President of Cinema Theatre Owners Association of Koppal district in the year 1999. Since 2003 he has been working as the member of Working Committee for Karnataka State Cinema Theatre Owners Association.

In the field of education, his work is commendable. He founded Shantiniketan Education Society at Gangavathi and presently he is Vice-President of it. Another area in which Sri Shivaramagouda had great interest is co-operative field. He tried his level best to give social orientation to co-operative ventures in Gangavathi and at the state level. He served as founder director of Sri C.B.S. Souhardha Urban Co-operative Bank, Gangavathi and Sri Basaveshvar Co-op. housing Society, Gangavathi. Owing to his success and experience in co-operative field, he was elected as the Vice President of Karnataka State Co-operative Housing Federation and as a member of Sahakara Bharati. He has visited Australia, China, Singapur, Malaysia and Thailand as a team member to study the different dimensions of co-operative sector in those countries.

By being himself a great organizer and creative thinker, he has served Gangavathi Taluka Panchamasali Society as a President for several years and at present he is Vice President of Karnataka State Veerashaiva Panchamasali Society. Sri Shivaramagouda is an active member of RSS and has taken part in various national meets and service camps. Mr. Shivaramagouda speaks less and what he speaks he acts accordingly with great care for the social cause.

He has helped many poor students to persue their education. His entire family is known for Free Mass Marriages every year. He has made liberal contributions to various temples and mathas. He is a humble and sober and gentleman. He maintained cordial relations with Government officials and used their Services to the maximum extent for the developmental activities in this area. He has got a great vision of making his Koppal Constituency as a model in this part of the State for which he is striving constantly.
